Litratong Pinoy: BATIK (Spots)



Nakapaskil ang kanyang mukha sa maraming bahagi ng siyudad isa, dalawang taon pa bago maghalalan. Lalo na nung nakaraang piyesta, halos bawat poste ay tangan-tangan ang kanyang larawan na may kasamang malugod na pagbati. Ang mga programa ng lunsod ay kapansin-pansin na pinapangalanan upang magsimula gamit ang unang titik ng kanyang pangalan, gitnang pangalan, at apelyido- ang nagagawa nga naman na ang iyong kabiyak ang nakaupong punong-lunsod. Siya ang nakatakdang humalili sa kanyang asawa- kung ang pagbabatayan ay ang siyudad naming namumutiktik sa kanyang mga poster. Malaman-laman ko na lang bigla- yung tatay ni Mayor pala ang tatakbo...

BATIK = SPOTS

Her face has been plastered all over the city one, two years before the elections were to happen. Especially during last year's foundation day ceremonies, almost every light post played host to her posters containing her greetings and congratulations. Local government programs and slogans were carefully being (re-)named so that the key words would begin with the same letters as her initials- the things that can be done when your husband is the incumbent city mayor. She has been the anointed successor- if the number of her posters were to be the measure. But I surely was surprised- his father is the candidate for city mayor...

  3. Hindi ko kilala ang kandidato, pero mahirap magtiwala sa mga politiko :( marami sa kanila ay karapat-dapat lang na tabunan ng batik ang mga posters :P
